BCC Baseball has been the leader in youth baseball for the last 27 years. We advocate the development of strong fundamental baseball skills in conjunction with an appreciation for good sportsmanship. We mandate fair playing time, position changes and limits on the number of kids per team in our recreational league. We believe the goal of youth sports should be to develop skills, sportsmanship, camaraderie and have fun. The heart and soul of our program is the recreational league where classmates and friends play together while parent volunteers manage and coach the teams.
Our recreational league offers playing opportunities for players in preschool through 12th grade. We have both spring and fall seasons - teams may participate in one or both. The spring season is 8 weeks and generally runs April-June and the fall season is 6 weeks beginning in September and ending mid to late October. Games are played on Sunday afternoons and practices are held once a week. Registrants without a prior team affiliation are placed based on school and geographic location.

When “winning” overrides these goals, we have concerns. It is for this reason that we mandate fair playing time, position changes and limits on the number of kids per team in our recreational and developmental leagues. The goal of youth sports should be to develop skills, sportsmanship, camaraderie and have fun. A coach’s greatest challenge and gratification can come from developing the less gifted players.
Baseball can play an important role in the development of our youth, teaching many of life’s lessons. In particular, how we encourage sportsmanship by our behavior as parents and coaches and how we handle its aberrations, both on and off the field impart invaluable lessons for our children throughout their lives. Although we all want the best for our children, especially the satisfaction of winning a hard fought game, it is equally important that we prepare and teach our children to lose graciously.
Fees range from $200-250. The league provides game and practice fields, uniforms, tees, bases, balls and a first aid kit. We provide refunds for the spring season until April 1st and for the fall season until September 1st - all refunds are assessed a $30 admin fee.
BCC Recreational Baseball is divided (by grades) into five baseball leagues, each with rules to match the skill level and age of the players. Complete description of each league and rules for all leagues can be on the rules page at https://www.bccbaseball.com/rules.
In Senior League (8th-12th grade), teams are grouped in divisions by grade. For the most part, 8th graders play 8th graders, 9th and 10th graders play 9th and 10th graders, and 11th and 12th graders play 11th and 12th graders.
Uniforms:
Fall season: Jersey and hat
Spring season: Jersey, hat, pants, and socks

National
League

Generally kindergarten and 1st graders.

Teams in this age group play three innings.

An inning is over once each player has batted.

There are no strikeouts.

All players play in the field every inning.

Outs are made in the field, thereby limiting the number of runs scored.

The coach pitches underhand to his/her batters.

If the ball is not hit after a set number of pitches, a batting tee is used.

Opposing coach or parent is catcher.

Games are approximately 60 minutes long.

Reduced Injury Factor (RIF #1) baseballs are used.

The primary emphasis is on sportsmanship and instruction rather than winning.

American League

Generally 2nd and 3rd graders.

Play is governed by the normal three outs per inning.

All players bat in rotation and play the field.

A player is the catcher.

Games are generally 90 minutes long.

Pitching machines and RIF #5 baseballs are used.

Emphasis is on instruction, not winning.
Minor
League

All players bat in rotation regardless of whether or not they played in the field the previous inning.

The base path is 60' and the pitching distance is 46'.

Major
League

Generally 6th & 7th graders.

Rules are similar to professional baseball.
